The University of Urbino
“Carlo Bo” (http://www.uniurb.it ) is a medium- to large-sized Italian University with approximately 19,000 students. The University employs about 1,100 staff, 670 of which are academic or contract staff.The University was recently ranked 1st in Italy for its publication citation ranking.
Founded in 1506, the University is now organized into 10 faculties and several Research Centers. The centers are well-equipped with modern equipment including automated nucleic acid sequencers, protein sequencers, real-time PCR equipment, NMR spectrometers, HPLC and mass spectrometers, electron microscopes, atomic force microscopes and more.
University of Urbino's Research Center for Biotechnology was recently established to develop biotechnological applications in the field of new diagnostics, therapeutics and vaccines. Process development for the production of Tat protein, development of anti-Tat antibodies, and anti-Tat IgG immunoassays for monkey, rabbit, mouse and human were developed at this center of University of Urbino. |
